Anthropomimetic upper limb and lower limb mechatronic assistive device.
The main goal of this project is to develop anthropomimetic (human mimicking) exoskeleton structure. The application might include rehabilitation of stroke patients, muscle disorder patients, etc. The device mimics the human muscular system, the end goal is to detect the muscle group movement and add on to the muscle movement to assist the wearer.
This project is being done under the guidance of Prof. Madhav Rao (IIIT Bangalore) and Dr. Vikas Vazhayil (National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences).
A patent application for the device has been filed. Newspaper articles about the same can also be found here and here.
